Packaged general cargo, palletized goods and industrial components may be assessed for storage or staging. Provide package dimensions, weights, stackability and the expected storage duration. Identify items needing separation, protection from moisture or a specific handling method. Not every facility is suitable for every commodity.
At receipt, agree how package count and visible condition will be recorded and how discrepancies will be reported. Use shipment references that remain recognizable through consolidation and onward dispatch. An inventory handover record should distinguish the cargo received from goods still expected from another supplier.
If the requirement includes repacking, labeling or preparing export pallets, describe the work before goods arrive. Specialist requirements, regulated commodities and temperature-controlled storage need a separate suitability check. General warehousing coordination should never be taken as confirmation that those facilities or controls are available.
