The service

Connect factories, cargo terminals and receiving teams

Road freight links the places where cargo is made, stored, shipped and received. Manufacturers moving packaged components, traders arranging a port pickup and businesses planning warehouse deliveries need a transport arrangement that fits both the goods and the site. A vehicle booking alone does not resolve loading access, receiving hours or unloading resources.

An inland transport enquiry can concern a domestic movement or a road leg at the origin or destination of an international shipment. We review the actual locations with appropriate transport providers and freight agents. Equipment, access and timing must be confirmed for that leg; the location of our headquarters does not determine the cargo's pickup or delivery point.

Practical freight support

What we coordinate

First-mile pickup and last-mile delivery

We align collection and delivery communication with cargo readiness and receiving availability. Provide exact site addresses, contact details and operating hours so vehicle arrival can be planned around loading and unloading arrangements, rather than an approximate city-to-city route.

Container transportation and port connectivity

Container movements need coordination between cargo release, transport availability and the relevant terminal or depot handovers. We help align those points with the agreed inland leg. Empty container return responsibilities, dates and depot instructions should be confirmed in the movement scope.

Vehicle and load planning

Full truckload or shared-load arrangements can be assessed where suitable and available. Selection depends on cargo dimensions, weight, handling sensitivity and timing. We coordinate the requirement with transport providers; the plan should identify the proposed vehicle and who supplies loading and unloading resources.

Before you book

Road cargo needs more than a total weight

Typical enquiries include cartons, pallets, industrial components, machinery and containerized commercial goods. Share dimensions and weight for each piece, not just the consignment total. Long, tall or unevenly weighted cargo may require a different loading approach from ordinary palletized freight.

Photographs and packing information help explain whether a consignment is stackable, weather-sensitive or vulnerable to vibration. Identify any lifting points and restrictions on tilting. The shipper should confirm that the packing and securing approach suit the proposed journey and the handling at both ends.

Site access can be decisive. Narrow entrances, height restrictions, limited turning space or a missing unloading facility can prevent an otherwise suitable vehicle from completing delivery. Tell us about these conditions early, including whether the receiving team needs a booked appointment or special handling resources.

How we work

A clear plan, from assessment to updates

  1. 01Assess

Assess the cargo, pickup and delivery locations, site access, readiness date and handling resources available at each end.

  2. 02Plan

Plan a suitable transport arrangement, obtain provider rates and quote the scope around any port, airport or warehouse handover deadlines.

  3. 03Coordinate

Coordinate vehicle communication, loading readiness, movement documents and delivery contacts after the quotation and commercial terms are accepted.

  4. 04Update

Update collection and delivery status, raise exceptions and follow up on the agreed receipt or handover confirmation.

Make an informed choice

Reduce waiting by preparing the handover

Confirm who will load, secure and unload the goods before a vehicle is dispatched. Share the delivery address and receiving contact in a usable form, and agree how a shortage or visible damage will be recorded. For port-connected movements, confirm release readiness and return instructions. Waiting time, access changes and extra handling may affect the quotation; discussing them in advance makes the transport plan clearer for everyone.

Why Carglocal Logistics?

Practical planning. Clear communication.

Carglocal supports practical road freight planning alongside air, sea and warehousing coordination. This helps businesses keep an inland leg aligned with the main shipment rather than treating it as a disconnected booking. We communicate with the transport providers, agents and site contacts relevant to the proposed route, then follow the agreed handovers. Availability is checked for each requirement rather than inferred from a general international freight service.

Headquartered in Chennai, India, we welcome freight enquiries from businesses in India and overseas. Email info@carglocal.com with your origin, destination and shipment details.

Your questions, answered

Land Cargo: frequently asked questions

Can land cargo connect with a sea freight booking?

Yes. Inland pickup, container transportation and final delivery can be coordinated with an ocean movement when included in the agreed scope. Confirm each handover and its responsibilities in the quotation.

Do I need a full vehicle for a small shipment?

Not always. A shared-load arrangement may be suitable where available, depending on dimensions, packaging, cargo compatibility and delivery timing. Fragile or non-stackable goods need a specific review.

Who arranges loading and unloading equipment?

The quotation and movement plan should specify this. Tell us what equipment and staff are available at each site so additional resources can be discussed before dispatch.

What can delay a container pickup?

Cargo release, terminal availability, documents, vehicle access and slot requirements can all affect collection. Confirm readiness with the relevant parties before committing the road leg.
